I am a consultant psychiatrist, based in Edinburgh and London, specialising in the assessment and treatment of common psychiatric disorders including stress, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. I have extensive experience of working in general adult psychiatry, specialist eating disorders services and forensic services and I have produced many medico-legal reports for both the insurance industry and the courts. I am trained in cognitive behaviour therapy. I have research experience in treatment of depression and eating disorders and services for severe mental illness.
Expert witness service:
I provide psychiatric medico-legal reports for civil litigation. I am based in Edinburgh and London. I am currently providing primarily online video interviews (but I can offer face-to-face interviews if necessary). I have prepared reports for both Pursuer/Claimant and Defender/Defendant and I have experience of giving evidence in court. I have produced over 500 reports.
Current clinical practice:
I am Honorary Therapist and Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. I am registered as a provider with BUPA and AXA insurance.

I also have extensive previous experience as a consultant psychiatrist working both in general adult psychiatry and in forensic psychiatry.

I have published research on psychological therapies for mental illness (including depression and eating disorders) and on a public education programme to reduce stigma in community care.
